Your tax-deductible donation will help the DHMS PTSA to fulfill teacher grants, implement campus improvements, and augment technological and educational enhancements for our students.
In the last few years, Enrichment Fund donations:
Funded the purchase and installation of the new Druid Hills Middle School name lettering on the building
Funded the purchase and future installation of the new digital marquee outside of the gym building
Provided for teacher wish grants, such as bringing in orchestra clinicians
Provided Teacher of Excellence cash awards to teachers
Funded continuing education courses for our teachers
Purchased additional Chromebooks and devices which allowed our students to pair their coding skills with classroom projects
In 2019-2020, the Enrichment Fund had a goal to resurface our school's deteriorating original track. Many donors and community sponsors supported this endeavor. After learning that our Druid Hills cluster was the only DCSC school cluster without an all-weather track, volunteers wrote letters and appeared in front of the School Board to create a call to action for the track to be replaced altogether. Thanks to them and to our School Board Chair, Mr. Marshall Orson and Regional Superintendent, Mr. Trenton Arnold, who navigated the system and helped secure the funding and the operational support to make these much needed improvements happen. Our new track is now under construction!
Since the majority of costs associated with the new track will be funded by the county, we will determine where to best use the money raised in 2019-2020 after the completion of this project. As our building was built over 50 years ago, there are plenty of areas that can use our capital support.
A NEW TRACK FOR DHMS!
